Andy Kessinger ’92 was a two-time All-America forward in men’s soccer. He was a first-team All-America, All-Mideast and All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection as a senior after leading the Bishops to a 22-2 record and a berth in the NCAA semifinals. He led the team and ranked fourth in the NCAC in scoring with 13 goals and 8 assists for 34 points. As a junior, he was a third-team All-America and first-team All-Mideast and All-NCAC pick as the Bishops went 20-4-1 and lost the national championship game on penalty kicks. His 21 goals tied for second on the all-time Bishop season list and his 55 points tied the OWU season record and set an NCAC season mark. A second-team All-Mideast and All-NCAC choice as a sophomore, he ranked second on the team and fourth in the NCAC in scoring with 14 goals and 9 assists for 37 points. He had a midseason string of 5 straight games in which he scored the deciding goal. He scored in both games of the NCAA regional tournament as OWU won the Great Lakes crown but lost on penalty kicks in the national quarterfinals. He was an honorable mention All-NCAC pick as a freshman, totaling 13 goals and 2 assists to rank third on team and sixth in NCAC in scoring. He either scored or assisted on the game-winning goal in 31 of the wins the Bishops claimed in 4 years with him on the field. He ended his career as Ohio Wesleyan’s all-time points leader (154) and ranked second in career goals (61) and third in career assists (32).
