Mark Kimball ’84 lettered 4 times in cross country and track & field. He recorded top-20 finishes at the OAC cross country championship meet during each of his first 3 seasons, helping the Bishops to a best-ever second-place OAC finish in 1981. As a senior, he placed second in both the OAC and NCAA Division III regional meets. Indoors, he finished second in the OAC in the mile run as a junior and won the mile and 2-mile runs as a senior, set a school record in the 1000-yard run, and tied the school mark in the 880-yard run. Outdoors, he capped his senior year by winning the Most Outstanding Runner award at the OAC championship meet after winning the 1500-meter run, placing second in the 10,000 and third in the 5000, and running on the 1600-meter relay team as a last-second substitute. He went on to place ninth in the 1500 at the NCAA Division III championship meet. He was a second-team Academic All-America® selection by CoSIDA.
