Payson Corbiere ’96 was a member of 3 All-America and 4 All-North Coast Athletic Conference relay teams and helped Ohio Wesleyan to two consecutive top-20 finishes at the NCAA Division III championship meet. He helped the 400 freestyle relay team win All-NCAC honors and qualify for the NCAA championship meet his sophomore year, and as a junior, he won the 50 freestyle in a dual meet against Denison and won the 200 IM in a dual meet at Kenyon. He was a member of NCAC champion relay teams in the 200 freestyle and 400 medley events and won All-NCAC honors on the runner-up 200 medley relay, helping OWU to a fifth-place finish. At the NCAA meet that year, he was a member of the 200 medley relay team that won All-America honors with a fifth-place finish in a school-record 1:35.12. He also was part of honorable mention All-America relay teams in the 200 and 400 freestyles. Ohio Wesleyan finished 17th in the team standings that year. At the NCAC meet his senior year, he placed 12th in the 50 and 100 freestyles as well as the 100 butterfly, and was a member of sixth-place teams in the 200 and 800 freestyle relays as Ohio Wesleyan finished seventh.
