Steve Goodhart ’95 was a 2-time All-America selection in baseball. He was the first Ohio Wesleyan player to be named first-team all-region 4 times and the first to repeat as North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year. His freshman year, he batted .395 (ranking ninth in the NCAC) with 2 HR and 33 RBI, receiving second-team All-NCAC and first-team all-region honors. As a sophomore, he batted .397 (ranking seventh in the NCAC) with 2 HR and 26 RBI and was a first-team All-NCAC and all-region pick. His junior year, he won the NCAC batting title with a .449 average with 1 HR and 40 RBI. He was named NCAC Player of the Year and was a first-team all-region and second-team All-America selection. As a senior, he batted .404 (fourth in the NCAC) with 9 HR (third in NCAC) and 53 RBI (second in NCAC). His .413 career batting average ranked third on the OWU career list, and he ranked in the top five of virtually every offensive category. During his 4 years, the Bishops were 138-40 (.775 winning percentage) with 2 NCAC championships and 2 regional runner-up finishes.
