Kristen Shockley ’00 was 4-time all-conference selection in volleyball who was a key player in the most successful 4-year span in the program’s history. As a freshman, she ranked third on the team in kills (309, 2.47 average) and digs (392, 3.14 average). She was named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference tournament team as Ohio Wesleyan won the NCAC championship, and she was a second-team all-conference pick. Her sophomore year, she ranked second in the NCAC in digs (4.47/game), and she set school records with 457 kills, 1301 attempts, and 595 digs. She had 10 kills and 21 digs in the title match loss to Wittenberg, and was named to the All-NCAC tournament team as well as a second-team all-conference pick. As a junior, she led the NCAC in digs (5.57/game) and her total of 702 digs set another school record. She led the team in kills (411, 3.26 average) and service aces (0.34/game) and was a first-team All-NCAC selection. She repeated as a first-team All-NCAC pick her senior year, ranking sixth in the league in digs (3.91/game), and was again picked to the All-NCAC tournament team. She set Ohio Wesleyan career records with 143 matches played, 512 games played, 1528 kills, 4441 attack attempts, 8.67 attempts/game, 2189 digs, and 4.28 digs/game, while her 169 service aces ranked second and her kills average of 2.98/game was third. During her 4 years, the Bishops went 100-44 with one NCAC championship and 2 runner-up finishes. She also lettered 4 years in basketball, helping Ohio Wesleyan compile a 72-33 record and win 2 conference titles.
