Yale Gutnick ’64 was a 3-time All-Midwest Lacrosse Association defenseman who served as team captain as a senior. His senior year, he opened the season by receiving Transcript Athlete of the Week honors after the team opened the season with an 11-5 loss to Hobart in which Gutnick scored a goal, then followed with an 8-1 win over Notre Dame “highlighted by captain Yale Gutnick’s aggressive body checking…” He scored 2 goals in an 8-6 win over Kenyon later that season and had 2 goals in a 4-3 loss to Ohio State. He was an honorable mention All-MLA pick that season. He also received honorable mention All-MLA honors as a junior and as a sophomore. That year, he was credited with an assist in both games against Kenyon and scored in a Bishop win over Ohio State. He also lettered 3 times in football as a defensive halfback, intercepting 3 passes during both his senior and sophomore years.
