Linda DeMichele ’90 was a three-time first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection in field hockey, standing out as a scrappy defender on Bishop teams that began a streak of seven straight NCAC championships and NCAA Division III tournament appearances. A first-team all-region and All-NCAC pick as a senior, she also earned first-team GTE Academic All-District laurels. She helped anchor an Ohio Wesleyan defense that posted 11 shutouts and allowed only 12 goals while going 17-2 and winning the NCAC title with an unprecedented 12-0 record. As a junior, she rang up 2 goals and 2 assists on the way to first-team all-region and All-NCAC citations. The Bishops allowed 17 goals that season on the way to a 15-4-1 record and a 7-0-1 conference mark. She moved into starting lineup and was a first-team All-NCAC pick as a sophomore, helping the team to 16-4-1 overall and 8-0 NCAC marks and an NCAC title. She lettered as a freshman, helping the team to a 13-8-1 record, at the time the program’s highest win total of the 1980s.
