Kara Dickinson ’95, a 2-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection as a field hockey goalkeeper, capped her career by receiving NCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. She took over the starting goalkeeper spot as a sophomore, making 94 saves while allowing 18 goals and posting 2½ shutouts while helping the Bishops to a 12-4 record and a 10-2 mark in the NCAC, good for the team’s seventh straight conference title. Her junior year, she led the NCAC with an .892 saves percentage and received first-team All-NCAC and second-team all-region honors. As a senior, she again led the NCAC in saves percentage (.906) and was named NCAC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-NCAC as Bishops went 15-4 overall and 11-1 in NCAC, winning the conference title and advancing to the NCAA playoffs. She was a first-team all-region pick and was selected to the CFHCA North-South all-star game.
