Jack Fouts ’48 returned to Ohio Wesleyan as head football coach in 1964. He enjoyed the greatest success of his 20-year coaching career at Ohio Wesleyan between 1966-71, when his team logged a 38-15-1 record, winning Ohio Athletic Conference titles in 1967 and 1971. The 1971 team was selected to play in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl (the NCAA College Division Western Regional title game). Fouts was named District Two Coach of the Year in 1967 and served as head coach of the West team in the first All-Ohio Shrine Bowl in 1972. During his undergraduate career, he earned 2 letters in football, 2 in baseball, and 1 in basketball.
