Don Watkins ’19 lettered twice in football, twice in basketball, and once in baseball. He was an All-Ohio selection in football and basketball, earning second-team honors as a football fullback by the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 1916 and second-team honors as a basketball guard by The Columbus Dispatch in 1917. He was captain-elect of the 1917 football team, but gave up that position when he enrolled in the military to serve in World War I. After completing his military service, he returned to campus and played baseball, winning the starting rightfield spot and ranking second on the team in batting.
