Brent Weaver ’98 was an All-America second baseman and the catalyst on one of the most potent offensive baseball teams in NCAA Division III. He won the shortstop spot as a sophomore, batting .283 with 5 home runs and 25 RBI on the way to honorable mention All-NCAC honors as OWU went 32-15-1, won the NCAC championship and finished third in the NCAA regional tournament. As a junior, he won first-team All-NCAC and all-region and second-team All-America honors. His .455 batting average was the sixth-highest single-season figure at Ohio Wesleyan, and he ranked third in the league in batting and sixth in runs scored. He also hit 6 home runs and drove in 37 runs. OWU was 29-15-1 and finished third in the NCAA regional tournament. His senior year, he moved to second base and ranked sixth in the league in batting at .433, helping Ohio Wesleyan win its first 22 games and lead the nation in batting and scoring that season. Ohio Wesleyan went 36-10-1 and finished as regional runner-up. His career batting average of .383 ranked eighth all-time at OWU, while his 177 runs scored and 104 walks ranked second, and his on-base percentage of .489 ranked fifth. During his 4 years, the Bishops were 134-48-3 (.732) with 3 NCAA playoff appearances and a conference championship.
