Amy Work ’04 won All-America honors as a defender during the most prolific 4-year period in Ohio Wesleyan women’s soccer history. She won a starting midfield spot as a freshman, starting 18 of 21 games and compiling 4 goals and 5 assists. She scored the game-winning goal in the NCAA regional championship game against Wilmington, sending Ohio Wesleyan to the national quarterfinals, and won second-team all-conference honors. As a sophomore, she moved to the backfield and started all 23 games, contributing 5 goals and an assist. Ohio Wesleyan allowed only 10 goals during the season on the way to a 22-1 record, an NCAC title and the NCAA Division III championship. Her junior year, she started all 24 games as Ohio Wesleyan ran the table in winning its second consecutive NCAC and NCAA Division III championships. The Ohio Wesleyan defense allowed only 4 goals all season, with Work winning first-team All-NCAC, All-Ohio, all-region, and All-America honors. As a senior, she started all 19 games in the backfield, contributing 4 goals and 2 assists. She received first-team All-NCAC, All-Ohio, and all-region honors. During her 4 years, Ohio Wesleyan was 79-7-1 (.914) with 2 national championships, 3 quarterfinal appearances, and 3 conference championships.
