Abby Jenkins ’01 was an All-America defender in women’s soccer. She won a starting spot as a freshman and went on to take second-team All-NCAC honors. As a sophomore, she was first-team All-NCAC, second-team All-Ohio, and third-team all-region choice after starting all 22 games. She scored her first collegiate goal with 1:53 left in regulation time to give Bishops a win over Kalamazoo in an NCAA Great Lakes Regional semifinal, Ohio Wesleyan’s first-ever postseason victory. Her junior year, she was named NCAC Defensive Player of the Year, taking first-team All-NCAC, All-Ohio, and all-region honors and receiving third-team All-America laurels. As a senior, she repeated as a third-team All-America and first-team All-NCAC, All-Ohio, and all-region choice as Ohio Wesleyan advanced to the national quarterfinals. During her 4 years, the Bishops were 64-16-1, including a mark of 25-7 in the NCAC, with 3 conference championships and 3 NCAA playoff appearances.
