John Hildebrand ’76 was an All-America selection in lacrosse. The Bishops’ crease attackman, he was an honorable mention All-America selection in 1975 and a third-team pick in 1976, and was named All-Midwest Lacrosse Association 3 times. As a senior, he led the Bishops to the NCAA semifinals, a No. 3 national ranking, and their first MLA title. He established 4 school scoring records, including marks for goals in a season (52) and career (162), and the NCAA tournament standard with 8 goals against Kutztown State in 1976. Hildebrand also led the MLA in goal-scoring average twice, converting 3.7 shots per game as a sophomore and 3.5 his final campaign.
