Drew Caravella was a 3-time All-America and 4-time All-NCAC first baseman, and perhaps the most prolific slugger in Ohio Wesleyan history. He was named North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and honorable mention All-NCAC as a freshman after batting .352 with 9 HR and 47 RBI. As a sophomore, he batted .439 with 12 home runs and 75 RBI, leading the NCAC in batting and RBI and ranking fifth in HR, and was named NCAC Player of the Year in addition to first-team All-NCAC, first-team all-region, and second-team All-America honors. His junior year, he batted .447 (third in the NCAC) with 16 home runs (third in the NCAC) and 82 RBI (led the NCAC). He was named MVP of the NCAC all-tournament team, and received first-team All-NCAC, all-region, and All-America honors. As a senior, he was named Division III Player of the Year, repeated as a first-team All-NCAC, first-team all-region, and first-team All-America selection, and was named NCAC Player of the Year for the second time. He led the NCAC in batting (.534), hits (87), doubles (21), and RBI (89) and ranked second in HR (16). He was named to both NCAC and Mideast Regional tournament teams. His career batting average of .445 set an OWU record, as did his 297 hits, 53 HR, 293 RBI, 531 total bases, and .796 slugging percentage. During his 4 years, the Bishops were 152-50 (.752) with 4 NCAA playoff appearances and 2 conference championships.
