Jason Bogenrife ’01 was a 3-time all-region and 4-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference catcher and one of the Bishops’ most prolific sluggers ever. He was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year and honorable mention All-NCAC as a freshman after batting .391 with 4 HR and 28 RBI. His sophomore year, he batted .359 with 12 home runs and 56 RBI on the way to first-team All-NCAC and honorable mention all-region laurels, leading the NCAC in home runs. As a junior, he batted .429 with 18 home runs and 69 RBI, again leading the league in homers and ranking second in batting and RBI, and earned first-team all-region and first-team All-NCAC citations. He hit for the cycle vs. Penn State-Behrend and tied school records with 3 homers and 14 total bases in a game at Wittenberg. In NCAA play, he belted 2 homers in a win over Calvin and a game-winning shot in a 1-0 win over Marietta. As a senior, he batted .369 with 13 HR and 53 RBI on the way to first-team All-NCAC and second-team all-region honors. During his career, he played in a school-record 182 games and batted .387 with school-record totals of 47 home runs and 206 RBI. During his 4 years, the Bishops were 151-47-1 (.761) with 4 NCAA playoff appearances and 2 conference championships.
