Sarah Shinn ’10, an Academic All-America® honoree, also was a 2-time North Coast Athletic Conference individual champion in track & field. As a freshman, she placed 15th at the NCAC cross country championship to win honorable mention All-NCAC honors and was 36th at the NCAA regional meet. Indoors, she won the 800-meter run and helped the 1600-meter relay team to a conference crown as OWU won the NCAC championship. She competed in the NCAA Division III championship meet, finishing 10th in the 800-meter run. Outdoors, she won the 800-meter run in an NCAC-record 2:14.96 and helped the 1600-meter relay team to a win as OWU won the team title at the NCAC championship. Her sophomore year, she finished 19th at the NCAC cross country championship to win honorable mention All-NCAC status. She returned from injury for her junior indoor season, and at the NCAC indoor championship, she anchored the 1600-meter relay team that won the final event to pull into a tie for the team title, also finishing second in the 800-meter run, the mile run, and the long jump. Outdoors, she was second in the 800-meter run and helped the 1600-meter relay team finish second as OWU won the team title. Her senior year indoors, she helped the distance medley relay team to a win and the 1600-meter relay team to a second-place finish, also placing fourth in the 800-meter and mile runs and fifth in the long jump, as OWU won the team title. Outdoors, she was second in the 800-meter run and helped the 1600-meter relay team to a third-place finish as OWU won the team title. She capped her career with second-team Academic All-America® honors. She was a 2-time NCAC individual champion and a 10-time All-NCAC honoree (2 cross country, 8 track & field), and was a member of 4 NCAC champion relay teams and 7 All-NCAC relay teams.
