Roger Ingles served as Ohio Wesleyan’s athletics director from 2004-17 and as baseball coach from 1984-2005. His teams totaled 15 NCAA Division III postseason appearances and 8 NCAC championships. He posted a career record of 645-322-8, a winning percentage of .666. Ingles’ teams won at least 20 games during each of his last 20 seasons. In addition to serving as Ohio Wesleyan’s head baseball coach, he also was an assistant coach in football and women’s basketball, helping both of those teams win their first NCAC championships. As athletics director, he founded the Dale J. Bruce Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner, expanded the full-time coaching staff and the athletic training staff, worked to improve gender equity across the athletics spectrum, and helped to improve Ohio Wesleyan’s athletics facilities. The Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center, the Luttinger Family Tennis Center, and Margaret Sagan Field were built during his leadership; Edwards Gymnasium, the Morrill Strength and Conditioning Room, and the Simpson Querrey Fitness Center were completely constructed/renovated; and Selby Stadium, the George Gauthier Track, the Jay Martin Soccer Complex, and Gordon Field House received significant improvements and upgrades. Ohio Wesleyan won North Coast Athletic Conference all-sports championships during the 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09 academic years.
