Ben Chojnacki ’07 was a 3-time first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection as a post player in basketball who finished his career with D3hoops.com all-region honors. As a freshman, he started 2 games, averaging 9.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. His sophomore year, he won a starting spot and averaged 17.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, ranking sixth and 10th respectively in the NCAC, and was a first-team All-NCAC selection. As a junior, he became the 23rd OWU men’s basketball player to surpass the 1000-point mark, and he scored 17 points, including a key 3-pointer down the stretch, as the Bishops defeated Wooster, 86-83, for their first win over a No. 1-ranked team since the 1988 national championship game. He led the team with averages of 12.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and his 1.9 assists per game was second on the team, and he was a first-team All-NCAC pick. His senior year, he led the team with an average of 13.0 points per game and averaged 5.6 rebounds per game. He led the NCAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.493) and ranked second in field goal percentage (.609), fourth in steals (1.61/game), seventh in blocked shots (1.35/game), and ninth in 3-point field goals (1.57/game). He was a first-team All-NCAC selection and received third-team all-region honors from D3hoops.com. He finished his career with 1349 points, ranking 12th on the OWU all-time scoring list. During his 4 years, Ohio Wesleyan was 67-41 (.620) overall and 42-22 (.656) in the NCAC.
