Jay Tilton ’03 was an All-America selection in men’s golf who won All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors 4 times. His freshman year, he led the Bishops in one tournament and ranked third on team with a 78.53 average during the spring schedule. He won second-team All-NCAC honors by tying for eighth place at 151 in the conference tournament. He tied for 65th place at the NCAA Division III tournament with a 236. He moved into the lineup as a sophomore and ranked second on team with 77.23 average, leading the team in 2 tournaments. He repeated as a second-team All-NCAC pick after finishing 10th with a 162 at conference tournament. He tied for 75th with a 313 at the NCAA Division III tournament. As a junior, he won his third consecutive second-team All-NCAC citation, tying for ninth place with a 161 in the conference tournament. He tied for 45th place with 314 at the NCAA Division III tournament. He averaged 77.62, ranking second on the team, and led the team in one tournament. His senior year, he led the Bishops in the final 2 tournaments of regular season, finishing second in one and then taking medalist honors at the NCAC tournament with a 142. His 68 in the first round of the NCAC tournament tied for fifth all-time on the OWU 18-hole list, while the 142 was tied for the third-lowest 36-hole total on the OWU list. He went on to tie for 19th place with a 296 at the NCAA Division III tournament, earning honorable mention All-America honors. He ranked second on team with 75.48 average that season. During his 4 years, Ohio Wesleyan won 3 NCAC championships and made 4 NCAA tournament appearances, including 2 top-10 finishes.
