Fred Myers, a former Associate Professor of Physical Education and physical therapist, joined the Ohio Wesleyan faculty in 1955. He coached diving for 5 years and served as assistant football coach for 2 years. He began the lacrosse program at Ohio Wesleyan and coached the sport for 17 years. As soccer coach from 1957 to 1977, he compiled a 135-80-21 record, capturing four Ohio Athletic Conference championships and receiving 8 NCAA tournament bids. In 1975, he captured the NCAA College Division Regional Championship and guided his team to a ranking of third in the nation. In 1971, he was named Ohio College Soccer Coach of the Year.
