Tyler Stillman ’00 was a 2-time national champion in the 400-meter dash. He came out for track as a junior and was instant success, winning NCAC Sprinter of the Year honors at the indoor championship meet after winning the 400-meter dash (:50.26), placing second in the 300-meter dash, and helping the 800-meter relay team to a win as the Bishops won the team championship. Outdoors that year, he also was named NCAC Sprinter of the Year after winning the 200-meter dash (:22.02) and 400-meter dash (meet-record :48.22) and helping the 400-meter relay team to a meet-record :42.17. He won the NCAA Division III championship in the 400-meter dash, running a :47.25 in the prelims and a :48.40 in the final. As a senior, he again won the 400-meter dash and helped the 800-meter relay team to a win (OWU- and NCAC-record 1:29.99) as the Bishops repeated as NCAC champion. At the indoor nationals, he won All-America honors with a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash (49.00). Outdoors, he won the 400-meter dash as Ohio Wesleyan won its first-ever All-Ohio title, then won the 400, placed third in the 200, anchored the league-champion 400-meter relay team (meet-record :41.38, automatic qualifying time), and helped the 1600-meter relay team place third as the Bishops repeated as conference champions. He successfully defended his national championship in the 400-meter dash, finishing in :47.39 to become the second Ohio Wesleyan runner to repeat as a national champion. He also won 4 letters in football as a split end and defensive back.
