A 2-time All-America defenseman in men’s lacrosse, Zach Gagel ’00 also was a 4-time first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection. His freshman year, he helped the Bishops to a 13-3 record, including the NCAC championship. He was a first-team All-NCAC selection and was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year. Ohio Wesleyan advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. As a sophomore, he was a first-team All-NCAC pick as the Bishops compiled a 13-4 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. His junior year, he helped the Bishops to a 12-4 record and another NCAA playoff appearance, and was a first-team All-NCAC and third-team All-America selection. As a senior, he ran the Bishop transition game and compiled 7 goals and 10 assists, with the 7 goals setting a school record for long-stick players, the 10 assists ranking second all-time, and the 17 points setting another school record. He was a first-team All-NCAC pick, was named NCAC Player of the Year, and was a first-team All-America selection as well as a North-South All-Star game choice. Ohio Wesleyan went 14-4 and shared the NCAC championship. During his 4 years, Ohio Wesleyan went 52-15 and won 2 conference titles.
