Stephanie Moss ’01 was a 4-time All-America performer in middle distances and a 2-time Academic All-America® selection who was honored once as the NCAC Distance Runner of the Year. As a freshman, she won NCAC indoor championships in the 400 (:59.83) and 800 (2:20.62), both school records, as Ohio Wesleyan finished second. Outdoors, she finished second in the 800 at the NCAC meet, also helping the 1600-meter relay team to a third-place finish, as OWU won the NCAC outdoor title. She did not run indoors her sophomore year, but returned to action outdoors and finished second in the 800 at the NCAC meet in a school-record 2:15.95. An automatic qualifier for the NCAA outdoor meet, she ran a school-record 2:13.01 in the prelims and finished fifth in the final to earn All-America honors. Her junior year, she won the NCAC title in the indoor 800 and added a fourth in the 400. Outdoors, she tied the meet record in winning the 800 at the All-Ohio meet (2:16.17), then won the 800 and added a seventh in the 200 at the NCAC outdoor meet, also helping the 1600-meter relay to a second-place finish as the Bishops finished second. She went on to the NCAA outdoor championship and repeated as an All-American in the 800, finishing eighth. She also was a second-team Academic All-America® selection. As a senior, she repeated as NCAC champion in the indoor 800 in a school-record 2:15.82, then lowered that to 2:14.50 in finishing sixth and earning All-America honors at the NCAA indoor championship. She also was named USTCA Regional Athlete of the Year. Outdoors, she was named Distance Runner of the Year at the NCAC championship after winning the 800 and 1500 and helping the 1600-meter relay finish in 3:57.98, breaking OWU, Selby, and NCAC records. She went on to finish second in the 800 at the NCAA championship meet. She won 6 NCAC individual championships and another as a member of relay teams, and was a 15-time All-NCAC honoree, including 2 in cross country and 4 as a member of relay teams. She also lettered twice in cross country. As a freshman, she was an honorable mention All-NCAC pick after finishing 21st in the conference championship meet. She qualified for the NCAA regional meet as an individual and finished 27th overall. Her sophomore year, she led the team in every meet and finished among the top 10 individuals in all meets except the All-Ohio and the NCAA regional, earning first-team All-NCAC laurels with her third-place finish there.
