Shaun Rice ’02 was a 2-time All-America outfielder. He transferred to Ohio Wesleyan as a junior and won the starting spot in centerfield, going on to bat .436 with 11 home runs and 59 RBI. He received first-team All-NCAC and all-region honors and was a second-team All-America pick. His senior year, he repeated as a first-team All-NCAC, first-team all-region, and second-team All-America selection. He batted .403, led the league with 18 home runs, tying the OWU single-season record, and he also led the league with 24 stolen bases. His career batting average of .420 ranked fourth all-time at OWU, as did his 29 home runs, and his slugging percentage of .786 was second. He closed out his career by representing Ohio Wesleyan as one of the Division III representatives at the NCAA Home Run Challenge at the Division I World Series. During his 2 years, the Bishops were 76-25 (.752) with 2 NCAA playoff appearances and a conference championship.
