Sharon Rymut ’10, a 6-time North Coast Athletic Conference individual champion in track & field, was twice named NCAC Field Events Performer of the Year. As a freshman, she won the discus (130-1) and was All-NCAC with a third in the hammer as OWU won the team title at the NCAC outdoor championship. Her sophomore year, she placed sixth in the shot put to help OWU repeat as NCAC indoor champion, then won the discus (123-0) and hammer (school-record 142-1) as OWU won the All-Ohio outdoor championship. At the NCAC championship meet, she repeated as discus champion (121-3), won All-NCAC honors with a third in the hammer, and was seventh in the shot put as OWU finished second. As a junior, she set a school record with 44-4¼ in the weight throw at the All-Ohio indoor meet. At the NCAC outdoor meet, she won the discus (118-0) and the hammer (134-6) and placed fourth in the shot put, receiving Field Events Performer of the Year honors as OWU reclaimed the conference championship. Her senior year, she placed fourth in the shot put as OWU won the NCAC indoor meet. At the NCAC outdoor championship, she repeated as Field Events Performer of the Year, winning the discus (127-7) for the fourth consecutive year and the hammer (157-1) for the second straight year, and finishing eighth in the shot put. She competed in the NCAA Division III championship meet, placing 11th in the discus and 16th in the hammer. She was a 6-time NCAC individual champion and an 8-time All-NCAC honoree, and was part of 7 conference championship teams.
