Obi Moneme ’96 was a 3-time All-America selection in soccer. His freshman year, he took over a starting forward spot and went on to rank fifth on the team in scoring with 7 goals and 6 assists. As a sophomore, he led the Bishops and ranked second in the North Coast Athletic Conference in scoring with 21 goals and 7 assists. The 21 goals tied for fourth and the 49 points tied for fifth on the OWU season lists. He received second-team All-America and first-team all-region, All-Ohio and All-NCAC honors. As a junior, he again led the Bishops and ranked second in the NCAC in scoring, this time with 21 goals and 9 assists. The 51 points tied for third and the 21 goals again tied for fourth on the OWU season lists and again received second-team All-America and first-team all-region, All-Ohio and All-NCAC honors. His senior year, he missed the beginning of the season while playing in the World University games as a member of the United States’ U-23 team but bounced back to receive NCAC Offensive Player of the Year honors and was a first-team All-America, all-region, All-Ohio and All-NCAC selection. His career totals of 57 goals and 140 points ranked third on the OWU lists.
