Laura Coleman ’94 was a 2-time All-America selection in field hockey. A rugged defender and dangerous scorer, she helped Bishop teams extend their streaks to 7 straight North Coast Athletic Conference championships and NCAA Division III tournament appearances. As a freshman, she moved right into the starting lineup and went on to receive honorable mention All-NCAC honors. Her sophomore year, she finished with 12 goals and 7 assists, ranking fourth in the NCAC in scoring, and was a first-team All-NCAC and all-region selection. As a junior, she was a first-team All-NCAC and all-region pick and a second-team All-America pick. Her senior year, she had 8 goals and 2 assists, ranking 10th in the NCAC in scoring, and was a first-team All-NCAC, all-region pick and All-America pick. She finished her career with 30 goals, 15 assists and 75 points, ranking fourth, third and fourth on OWU career lists in the respective categories. Ohio Wesleyan was 58-15-5 overall and 39-4-5 in the NCAC during her 4 years, winning 4 straight conference titles and advancing to the NCAA Division III playoffs all 4 years. She also lettered 3 times as a defender in lacrosse, winning All-NCAC honors all 3 seasons.
