Karen Albright ’85 was one of the top performers in the Ohio Wesleyan women’s swimming program’s improvement during the early 1980s. As a senior, she placed 17th at the NCAA Division III championship meet in the 100 backstroke, setting a school record with a time of 1:03.49. She set or shared 6 Bishop records (50, 100 and 200 backstroke; 50 butterfly; 400 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay). She placed second in 100 and 200 backstroke in the GLCA meet as a sophomore. As a freshman, she placed 14th, 22nd and 18th in 50, 100 and 200 backstroke and 29th in 100 IM at the GLCA meet and placed 3rd, 4th, 4th, and 6th in same events in the Ohio Division III meet.
