J.W. Wilson ’94 was a 2-time All-American and a 2-time North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year in golf. As a freshman, he recorded a pair of top-10 finishes at the Muskingum and Wooster tournaments, then tied for 14th place at the NCAC tournament. OWU went on to finish third at the NCAA Division III tournament, with Wilson tying for 30th place at 312. His sophomore year, he led the Bishops with an average of 77.59 strokes per round and recorded top-10 finishes at the Gordin, Muskingum and Wooster tournaments before shooting a 149 to win the NCAC tournament and take NCAC Player of the Year honors. He was an honorable mention All-America pick after tying for 47th place at 313 at the NCAA Division III tournament. His junior year, he successfully defended his NCAC Player of the Year title, shooting a 150 to help the Bishops win the NCAC championship. He finished third at Wooster and tied for second at the OWU Invitational that season and was a third-team All-America pick after tying for 15th place at 306 at the NCAA tournament. As a senior, he placed fourth in NCAC tournament as Bishops won NCAC title for their only tournament win of the spring season.
