Ernie Talos ’36 acquired a total of 6 varsity letters in basketball and baseball from 1933-36. He was a versatile sparkplug on the Buckeye Conference Champion teams of 1933-34 and 1934-35. As a sophomore, Talos played center and forward positions in addition to his usual guard slot. He was named to the same honor his junior year, and also received AP and UP All-Buckeye honors and was named to the All-Ohio first team at the guard position. He received the Bun Trophy as the team’s Most Valuable Player. Talos was also a baseball star at the plate, on the mound, at third base, and in the outfield. He co-captained the Bishops his senior year when the team tied with Ohio University for the conference championship.
