Domenic Romanelli ’87 was a 3-time All-Mideast, All-Ohio and All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection as a forward and sweeper in men’s soccer. As a senior, he ranked third on the team and sixth in the NCAC in scoring with 7 goals, 13 assists and 27 points on the way to second-team All-Mideast and All-Ohio and first-team All-NCAC citations. He was a first-team pick on the All-Mideast, All-Ohio and All-NCAC teams as a junior, ranking eighth on the team in scoring with 1 goal and 6 assists for 8 points. He started the season in the backfield but was moved to forward in midseason after missing 2 games with leg injury. He assisted on tying and game-winning goals in second half vs. Miami. As a sophomore, he was a second-team pick on the All-Mideast, All-Ohio and All-NCAC teams. He won the starting sweeper position and went on to rank fourth on team in scoring with 4 goals and a school-record-tying 11 assists. He was named the Dick Gauthier Award as MVP of the Fred Myers Invitational. He scored his first goals as a Bishop in a 6-0 win over Wooster and recorded the game-winning goal against Wilmington, finishing with 2 goals and 2 assists. He had a strong finish that season, compiling 2 goals and 7 assists in final 6 games. The team was 54-11-1 in his 3 seasons, including a 17-1 mark in the NCAC, 2 conference championships and 1 regional championship.
