Dean Hood ’85 was an All-America selection and a a 3-time first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection as a safety in football. He led the Bishops with 146 tackles as a senior and was named first-team Football News and third-team CoSIDA/Pizza Hut All-American and first-team All-NCAC that season. As a junior, he received honorable mention CoSIDA/Pizza Hut All-America and first-team All-NCAC honors. He ranked second on the team with 80 tackles and led the Bishops with 4 interceptions as a sophomore and was voted honorable mention CoSIDA/Pizza Hut All-America and first-team All-NCAC. He set the Bishop career record for solo tackles (216).
